Internet ApologyMake yours — from $5

How it works

  1. Write what you got wrong. Keep it to 280 characters. No accounts.
  2. Choose a public Penance. The minimum is $5. Custom amounts are allowed.
  3. Pay with PayPal Checkout. The amount charged is the amount the server created, not whatever the browser claims.
  4. Receive a permanent public receipt at a stable URL.
  5. People may Forgive for free. Forgiveness is entertainment/social feedback, not a legal act.
  6. People may Co-Sign from $2, meaning they admit they did it too.
  7. Real activity may move the apology into rankings such as Most Expensive, Most Forgiven, or Most Co-Signed. Rankings are not guaranteed.

Total Atonement = original Penance + all valid paid co-signs. If a co-sign is refunded, it leaves the public monetary totals. If the original payment is refunded or reversed, the public apology can be hidden as payment-invalid while internal financial history is kept.
